Welcome, brothers and sisters, to our Lenten series, “Junk in the Yard.” Throughout this series, we’ve been examining the sin of pride, and today’s episode continues this exploration by focusing on the theme of unforgiveness. Pride often manifests as an inability or unwillingness to forgive others, stemming from an inflated ego that feels deeply wounded when challenged.
When pride is hurt, a prideful person can become enraged, holding onto grudges and seeking vengeance through words, actions, or silent treatments. This attitude can lead to severed friendships and strained relationships, as the prideful person distances themselves from those who have wronged them.
However, God provides remedies for this prideful attitude, guiding us through prayer and the teachings of the saints. We are called to reflect on our own importance and the times when God has forgiven us, leading us to extend forgiveness to others. This Lenten season, let us pray for the grace to let go of unforgiveness and embrace humility in our relationships. God bless you as we continue our Lenten series on “Junk in the Yard.
