Abraham and Sarah waited for the fulfillment of the promise of a son named Isaac. When Isaac was born, they laughed out of disbelief and joy. However, God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice Isaac, which can be interpreted as a warning against idolizing anything or anyone.
