Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the Holy Week in Christianity. The Passion of Christ and the various guilty parties involved in his crucifixion highlight the role of the nameless crowd in condemning Jesus. The anonymous group can be easily manipulated, and we need to be aware of the dangers of following the mainstream media and the internet without discernment. There is a tendency to ridicule Christianity in popular culture while avoiding doing the same for other religions. We are to reflect on our role in the crowd and to be mindful of how easily the opinions of others can sway us.
